A charming and cosy Thames-side cottage with a pretty garden close to the Thames Path.
Always dreamed of staying in one of those pretty river-side cottages with a perfectly pruned garden? Lock Cottage is just that, the very epitome of a Thames-side cottage with ivy-clad walls, pruned shrubs and a rustic interior full of charm. Step inside to knobbly stone walls, wonky exposed beams and a roaring open fire built into a brick wall.
It has a small unfenced garden that overlooks the weir and open fields across from the river. Cross the bridge and hop onto the Thames Path for walks along the river.
You’ll be on the fringes of The Cotswolds with the quaint old village of Burford just a 15 minutes’ drive north from here. South to the cottage is the Iron Age hill-fort, Badbury Hill, White Horse Hill and the Berkshire Downs.
