The ultimate woodland retreat, this fairy-tale cottage nestles in the Aeron Valley.
Nestling in the magical wooded valley of the Aeron, Abermydyr, with its small arched windows and yellow façade, is thought to be designed in the early 19th-century by the architect, John Nash, who built Buckingham Palace. John Nash designed Llanerchaeron, for the Lewis family and the cottage was built for their coachman. A world away from a grand palace, this three bedroom woodland retreat feels exceptionally cosy inside. Dark wooden floors and exposed beams are met by a warming log-burner and traditional furnishings.
Abermydyr sits on the banks of the River Aeron, in the heart of the valley. You’ll be close to the Llanerchaeron estate, in which you’ll have free access to its walled gardens, parklands and main house.
With the Ceredigion coast just a short drive away, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches. Paddle in the shallows, discover hidden coves and caves or take in the view on a bracing cliff-top walk. The picturesque seaside town of Aberaeron, with its colourful Georgian style architecture, is just a 10-minute drive.
Abermydyr can be booked with nearby cottage Pontbrenmydyr, a charming cottage for two, only a short walk across the fields.
