Book in advance online. Please don't come to the campsite without a booking, as we're likely to be full.

The maximum number of adults allowed in a group is six, whether you book together or separately. This is to help preserve the tranquility at the campsite, which isn't suited to larger gatherings. If there are more than six adults in your group and you would like to camp, please complete the group booking enquiry form at the bottom of this page and we'll get back to you.

The minimum stay is 1 night.

You don't have to be a member of the National Trust to camp and we are unable to offer member discounts due to the regulations we are governed by as a charity. If you'd like to be a member and support our work, please speak to the team at reception.

Coming from the south, drive through Beddgelert and take the A498 by immediately turning right at the T-junction after crossing the bridge. Carry on down the A498 for 3 miles until you reach the campsite turning which is the next left after the café (Caffi Gwynant). Cross the cattle grid and continue on this road all the way until it ends, you may need to get out of the car in order to open and close the gates. Please drive very carefully and slowly as there may be livestock and pedestrians on the road.

The campsite is largely unmanned, so you'll check yourself in.

Check in is from 12noon to 11pm.

There will be a tent tag left for you in the welcome area, with your name and booking reference. Choose where to pitch, making sure there's at least 6m between your tent and any neighbour's tent. Attach your tent tag once pitched.

You'll see a campsite warden around throughout the day, ready to answer any questions and share local tips.

On your day of departure, please leave by 12noon. If you'd like to extend your stay, check availability and book online.

There are 27 simple grass pitches. Book a pitch online and you'll choose a spot from those available when you arrive.

The pitch price includes one tent and one car.

The maximum tent size is 8m x 8m.

When pitching, please ensure that your tent is six metres (about seven large paces) away from your neighbour's accommodation.

Hafod y Llan Campsite is a simple site with no reception or shop. There's no washing machine, or chemical waste disposal facility. There are no electric hook-ups, but some sockets are available for you to charge electricals.
Showers and toilets: There are male and female toilets and free hot showers. There is an accessible toilet in the farmyard.
Washing-up area: There is a sink for washing up.
Tumble dryer: There's one tumble dryer which accepts £1 coins. There's no washing machine.
Freeze packs: There's a freezer for freezing your own packs.
Waste: There are general waste and recycling facilities.
Please boil the water: The water available at the campsite should be boiled before drinking. It comes through a nearby stream and is filtered through a UV and a particulate filter.
Electrical vehicle charging: There is one electric vehicle charging point.
Parking: The camping fields are car free, with all cars parked in the small car park. Spaces are limited to one car per pitch, so please car share if driving to the site. Please don't bring any additional cars to the campsite, as you will not be able to park them on site. When parking, please avoid parking on or blocking the driveway at Hen Dy holiday cottage as access is required at all times.
Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi at the site. You'll find Wi-Fi available in some of the businesses in Beddgelert.
Mobile phone signal: There's no mobile phone signal at the site. The nearest payphone is on the main road at the entrance to the drive leading up to Hafod y Llan – approximately a 5 minute walk from the campsite. You can use an online signal checker to see where your network will be available in the area.
Local information: The campsite warden will be able to answer your questions about the local area, and there's also an information board.
Hafod y Llan is a dog-friendly campsite and all well-behaved dogs are welcome at no additional charge, two per pitch - please let us know in your booking. They must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised away from other campers. Please pick up after your dogs right away.
Please note the campsite is located on a sheep farm where there are working dogs. Please keep the gates closed to stop the sheep getting on to the campsite.
Campfires are allowed in the designated campfire pits. You will need to bring your own firewood as it is not sold on site. Please make sure the wood is untreated.
You can bring and use a barbecue as long as it is raised off the ground - no disposable, single-use barbecues please.
In our parking area, there is space for only one car for each pitch. Please don't bring any additional cars to the campsite, as you will not be able to park them on site.
Accessibility: The campsite is quite uneven in places and it may be difficult to walk across for those with limited mobility.

Quiet time: Please think of your neighbours and help us protect the peace and tranquility at Hafod y Llan at all times. No noise 10pm - 7am please.
No amplified music at any time please.
Fire safety: Chinese lanterns and fireworks are not permitted.
Cooking safety: Cooking inside tents is not permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Please pitch with 6m between your accommodation and your neighbour's accommodation.
Lost property: If you leave any of your possessions behind at the campsite, please contact us as soon as possible.
We reserve the right to charge you for any storage and delivery costs that we incur in relation to your lost property. We charge a lost property charge of £10 to cover our administrative costs and standard Royal Mail delivery up to 2kgs in the UK to return your items to you. If a request to return your items deviates from these conditions, then we reserve the right to charge you any additional costs.
Where possible, we’ll hold lost property for three months after which it’ll be disposed of. Perishables will be disposed of immediately and are therefore unreturnable. In addition, we will only be able to return items permissible by Royal Mail.
Problem or complaint: Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the camping pitch, pod or bothy and also site amenities are presented to a high standard. Should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the campsite staff, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. National Trust will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after the Visitor’s departure from the campsite if the Visitor did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during the Visitor’s stay. If you supplied an email address at the time of booking, a survey will be emailed to you for your comments after your stay. Alternatively, a comment form may be completed and left at the campsite reception. All complaints made after the Visitor’s departure should be made in writing by post or email to:

Beddgelert is 3.5 miles away and has a post office with cash withdrawal facilities, village shop and tourist information. It has a pub and places to eat, which tend to stop serving food between 8pm and 9pm. Porthmadog is larger with more facilities, 8 miles away.
Hafod y Llan Campsite is next to the Cwm Llan river at the base of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Wales' tallest mountain, and close to the Watkin Path which can be directly accessed from the campsite. Please be aware that the Watkin Path is eight miles (there and back) with an ascent of 3,330 feet, therefore plan ahead and bring appropriate equipment. The pretty village of Beddgelert is a three-mile walk away with its shop, post office and pub. There are many walking trails to choose from, and Gelert's grave walk is an easy mile from Beddgelert's centre along the river.
Beddgelert, Craflwyn and Sygun Copper Mines are all nearby.
There is a bus stop close to the campsite, it's situated at the bottom of the access road for the farm and campsite. There are bus timetables on display at the campsite.
