Only a mile away from the stunning Colby Woodland Garden, this remote and tranquil cottage is perfect for walkers, nature lovers and anyone who needs a break from their busy lives. Take time to discover otters frolicking in the water, toads slowly meandering by, rare wood warblers in the woodland and bats flying overhead at dusk in this enchanting place.

This recently renovated farmhouse offers a comfortable and peaceful space to relax after a day of exploring. The front door opens into a hallway where you’ll find the living room off to the right with its snuggly sofas and a toasty woodburner. To the left of the hall, the dining room has another woodburner, so when it’s blustery outside you can have cosy dinners round the table. The pretty built-in kitchen with its triple aspect windows is perfect for lazy breakfast preparations. There’s also a handy utility room. Upstairs off the landing, there are three bedrooms (two twins and a master) and two bathrooms. When you step outside the unenclosed garden stretches away to wilderness. Throw in the orchard, wildlife pond and a walled garden that’s used for growing veg, and you’ll see why this rural escape is so special.

At the heart of the Colby estate, this historic farmhouse is in a truly beautiful spot, nestling in the countryside, far from the road. Wander along to the hidden wooded valley of Colby Woodland Garden, just a mile away from the cottage, and discover the seasonal display of flowers and lush wildflower meadows. Or a short 30-minute walk will take you through sun-dappled woodland to the flat, sandy, Blue Flag beach at Amroth, where you can paddle, build sandcastles and catch some vitamin-sea. You can also nip into the bustling medieval walled town of Tenby with its stunning stretch of golden sandy beach, and check out the colourful houses that line the sheltered harbour.

This part of Pembrokeshire has all sorts of things to see and do to keep everyone entertained. For little ones, there’s Oakwood theme park, The Blue Lagoon water park or Folly Farm adventure park and zoo. Why not head out to the wildlife havens of Skokholm and Skomer where you can see puffins, Manx shearwater, guillemots and fulmars (at certain times of the year). The wonderful Stackpole Estate is not too far away, with stunning coastline, calm seas and sheltered coves that are perfect for canoeing or kayaking. Barafundle beach, often voted as one of the prettiest in the world, is a short walk across the headland from Stackpole.

Please note: Due to an open pond at the front of the cottage, this accommodation is not suitable for children aged three and under. Children and dogs should be supervised at all times. 

The track leading to the cottage is rough with several pot-holes and has a gulley at the front of the cottage. Care must be taken when navigating the track and it is not suitable for low-slung vehicles.

Garden: There is a large, open garden with outdoor seating. There is also an open pond with a bench at the front of the cottage and a public footpath that runs past the cottage.

Heating: Electric heating and two wood burning stoves.
