About Hardcastle Lodge

Nestle in your own little patch of harmony in this quaint two-bedroom Victorian cottage, encompassed by its own garden. You’ll be at the pillared entrance to the Hardcastle Crags estate with its wooded valley unfolding before you.

From here you’ll have a network of walking trails that pass tumbling waterfalls, rocky streams and otherworldly rock formations that rise from the dense woodlands. There’s also a former mill at its heart which is now a visitor centre. And if you have dogs, there’s no need to leave them behind as Hardcastle Lodge can cater for two pups. After a long day of walking, retreat inside to relax in front of the cottage’s wood-burning fire.

From here, the market town of Hebden Bridge is only two miles away and the city of Halifax is just 10 miles to the east. You’re also about an hours’ drive from the Yorkshire Dales which is to the north.

More information

Access: The accessibility guide is for guidance only. For up-to-date information, please call the team on 0344 800 2070.

Heating: Gas central heating included.

Logs: The fire will be laid for you on arrival with enough fuel to get you started.

Garden: Surrounding garden with paved patio area.

Access and Parking: There is parking for up to two cars on the drive to the rear. There is an electric vehicle charging point on the side of the cottage. Access to parking is through the wooden barred gate. This is steep, with a curve, so we recommend guests arrive in daylight to negotiate, and reverse down. Additional parking is available across the lane in the National Trust's car park. If your vehicle has low clearance, it would be better to use the National Trust car park opposite rather than try and negotiate the steep driveway. Vehicles with low clearance should not attempt to park outside the cottage, but should park at the car park opposite.

Please note: The bedroom and shower room are on the ground floor but the cottage may not be suitable for wheelchair users.
