Become a life member of the National Trust and help keep the places in our care special for everyone, for ever. You'll also enjoy a lifetime of experiences, exploring gardens bursting with colour, houses with stories to tell and countryside trails that lead you down undiscovered paths.

What to enjoy as a life member

  • Free entry to more than 500 places in our care.
  • Free parking at most National Trust car parks.
  • National Trust Handbook, full of information about the places we look after.
  • National Trust Magazine three times a year, packed with inspiration, interviews and news.
  • Access to the online Members’ Area, full of first-look previews and behind-the-scenes features.

Individual life membership

  • Individual life: £2,195
  • Individual senior life (age 60 or over): £1,640

Joint life membership

For two people, who are lifetime partners, living at the same address.

  • Joint life: £2,735
  • Joint senior life (one person age 60 or over): £2,060

Family life membership

For two adults and all their children or grandchildren up to the age of 18. Adults must be lifetime partners, living at the same address. Under 5s go free.

  • Joint family life: £2,865

Senior membership 

If you're an existing member aged 60 or over and you've been a member for at least the last three consecutive years, you're eligible for our senior membership rate.
