Whether this is your first time fundraising or you’ve done it before, find out how you can raise money to support the National Trust in caring for the places you love. Whether you raise £200 or £2,000, you’ll be helping to protect these places for generations to come.

Why we need your support

For over 125 years, people like you have played their part in protecting and caring for many of the UK's best-loved places. Thanks to your support, we now look after some of our nation’s most beautiful and precious landscapes, for everyone, for ever.

By fundraising for the National Trust, you’ll be helping us to continue our essential work, caring for places so that people and nature can thrive.

How your fundraising could help

  • £125 could help care for 250 feet of coastline all year round
  • £550 could fund two days of expert textile conservation work
  • £2,500 could plant one football pitch (½ hectare) of woodland

How to get involved

Choose your challenge
Your fundraising challenge can be anything you like. You could get active with a 20-mile run, swim or cycle – you could even complete 300 jumping jacks or cartwheels. If you’d rather get creative at home, why not commit to planting 20 new flower varieties in your garden? Maybe you want to set yourself the challenge of reading 100 books this year, or perhaps you have a different idea entirely.
Set up an online fundraising page
Once you’ve decided on your challenge or activity, the easiest way to raise money for your challenge is to set up a JustGiving page. When you’re ready, don’t forget to share it with your friends and family and ask them to sponsor your challenge. Why not make it a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money?Set up your JustGiving page
Complete and share your challenge
Now the only thing left to do is to complete your challenge and have lots of fun doing it. Don’t forget to share your success with your sponsors and us. We’d love to see what you’re doing so please share a photo or video of your challenge on our Facebook, Instagram or X.

Top tips for fundraising

Don't go it alone

Getting friends, family and colleagues involved can help to share the load, spread the word and make any challenge more fun. Who can join you? 

Boost donations

Create an online giving page and don’t forget to shout about it. Share your event on social media and in your local newspaper and community. 

Set a target

Whatever the scale of your challenge, setting a target will help keep you motivated and inspire others to support you.  

Track your progress

There are lots of ways to help keep you on track and record your progress including apps or keeping a journal or chart.   

Above all, enjoy it

Make room for fun. You're doing something amazing for special places, so enjoy the moment and the memories you're creating.

Whatever your challenge, remember that every penny you raise will help to look after the places we care for. From coast and countryside to woodlands, buildings and wildlife, thank you for protecting nature, beauty and history. 

Marathons and sporting events

If you’ve been successful in the open ballot for the London Marathon, Great North Run or any sporting activity and want to run for us, we’d love to hear from you. We can provide you with a National Trust running vest, help with setting up your donation page and send you lots of tips on how to maximise your donations. We’ll even send you one of our own eco medals when you finish. Get in touch at fundraise@nationaltrust.org.uk.
