Make your own Windsor Chair
Learn to make your own Windsor Chair with the Somerset Bodgers
- Booking essential
We have changed the format of this course from a solid week to three weekends one month apart. This allows for participants not having to forgo a weeks holiday but also gives participants a breather in between what can be quite physical and mentally demanding activities.
The event will take place over 6 days, as follows: Day 1: Saturday 5 April Day 2: Sunday 6 April Day 3: Saturday 3 May Day 4: Sunday 4 May Day 5: Saturday 7 June Day 6: Sunday 8 June
Days 1, 2 and 3 are dedicated to producing all of the turned parts. Another advantage of this format is that parts can dry out before assembly. In days 1-3, a comb is also prepared and steam bent. On day 4 a seat is carved. Day 5 should see legs and stretchers installed. Day 6 the back goes on and the chair is levelled.
You will go away with a fully functioning chair to be proud of. This 6-day course is quite demanding both physically and mentally but within the capabilities of most, will reasonably fit adults of all ages. Feel free to enquire.
