Fluent in Flowers

Follow a trail of signs throughout our gardens highlighting different plants that were used to convey messages throughout history and symbolise things like love, hate, victory or despair

A series of 10 signs throughout the lower gardens informing visitors of the meanings of plants throughout history. Including irises, salvias, carnations, daisies, marigolds, poppies, foxgloves, oranges, lavender, and apple blossom.

Complete the trail and earn a flower sticker to send your own message to someone through flowers, or keep for yourself.

The basics

Meeting point

Information on the trail will be given out at the Welcome Building. Signs and stickers can be found in the lower gardens and the orangery.

What to bring and wear

The trail takes place outdoors s please dress appropriately for the weather.

Accessibility

The trail takes place via a Step free route. Visitors are able to use the mobility shuttle if needed.
