Discover the beauty of hand embroidery in this inspiring workshop led by textile artist Lily Purslow at Wightwick Manor and Gardens.
Guided by Lily’s expertise, you’ll receive a full embroidery kit, including pre-printed fabric for precise stitching, high-quality DMC threads, and an embroidery hoop for display. The designs you will be working on are inspired by the Morris and Co. stained glass window panels in Wightwick's Billiard Room.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced stitcher, this four-hour workshop provides expert support, hands-on techniques, and creative insights drawn from Lily’s extensive experience in fine art and textiles.
Enjoy a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with drink refreshments included, and take home not only your embroidery but also a second design to complete at your own pace. Bring your own scissors and an optional sketchbook for extra creativity.
Spaces are limited—book now for a chance to craft your own timeless Morris-inspired embroidery at this historic setting.
£75 per person, includes admission to the site, drinks refreshments and all materials. There will be a 1 hour break where you can explore the site and make use of the tearoom facilities if you wish.
Please note, this workshop takes place in the meeting room above the shop in the Old Manor building, which is only accessible via a flight of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
Workshop runs from 10:30am - 12:30pm, with a break 12:30-1:30pm, then finishing at 3:30pm.

- Suitability
Suitable for over 18's.
- Meeting point
Please park in the main car park and make your way up the path to the Manor. The course will take place in the Meeting Room which is located above the Old Manor shop (not wheelchair accessible).
- What to bring and wear
Bring a pair of sharp scissors for the workshop. Please no stiletto heels. Please note, large bags are not permitted in the Manor and you may be asked to leave them in a locker.
- Accessibility
Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel. The Meeting Room is located on the second floor of the old Manor building, up a short flight of stairs (no wheelchair access). Visitor toilets are in a separate building next to the tearoom. Contact Lily with any specific requests, access or assistance needs or requirements.
