Welcome one, welcome all to our free open days! The Mander family liked to open up Wightwick Manor and Gardens to everyone to enjoy - and on 14 & 15 September, you're invited to join in with history, nature, games and fun for all the family!

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

History and Nature Talks: Join local historian David Guest, as he reveals the natural wonders of the local Smestow Valley and the intriguing history of the Battle of Tettenhall—an epic clash that helped shape the very beginnings of England. Talks will run daily at 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm.

Explore The Manor: Experience the charm of a home filled with Pre-Raphaelite art and William Morris interiors. The Manor will be open from 11am to 5pm, with the last entry at 4pm, allowing ample time to immerse yourself in the rich history and exquisite collections.

De Morgan Gallery: Visit the Gallery, open from 11am to 4pm, and delve into our special exhibition, "Look Beneath the Lustre." This exhibition, curated in partnership with the De Morgan Foundation, showcases a stunning array of artwork, providing a deeper understanding of the pieces' intricate beauty.

Garden and Woodland Play: September is a beautiful time to visit our 17-acre garden as it begins to showcase its autumnal colours. Take a leisurely stroll through the gardens or let the kids burn off some energy in our Woodland Play area. Weather depending, there will also be traditional games on the lawn.

Food and Souvenirs: You can visit our Mander's tearoom and treat yourself to one of our homemade seasonal lunches or even indulge in a freshly-scooped ice cream! Visit our shop in the Old Manor to take home a piece of Wightwick. We stock a range of postcards, arts and crafts inspired homeware and a range of delicious food.
