Adult Improver's/Intermediate Level Needle Felting Workshop - Foxes

This is a workshop aimed at adult intermediate level or improvers to needle felting, with tutor Natalie Harris(Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies.

  • Booking not needed

This is an adult (18+) workshop with tutor Natalie Harris(Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies.

Inspired by the beautiful Fox illustration by Philip Speakman Webb (a study for "The Forest" tapestry later made by Morris & co, this illustration is part of Wightwick Manor's collection) this workshop is aimed at people that have had a go at needle felting before and are confident in the basics. This is ideal for those looking to learn some new techniques such as using a simple armature.

In the morning (10.30-12:30) the basics of what type of wool and needles are best for sculpting will be explained and then you will use some basic techniques to make the base sculpt of your fox. There will be a break for lunch at 12.30. We will then return at 13:30 and continue making until 15:30 to finish our foxes and to add the finer details.

Admission to Wightwick Manor is also included and you will be able to view the house and grounds during the lunch break and you are welcome to stay up until closing time once the workshop has ended. Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel and you will have to negotiate a flight of stairs.

Booking is essential, £30 per person. Please book with Natalie at www.facebook.com/rolypolyponies or email info@rolypolyponies.co.uk

Lunch is not included, the the on-site tearoom will be open or you may bring your own.

Parking is free.
