Arrival and parking
- Standard on-street parking is available a short distance from Peckover House at Chapel Street car park. Enter the postcode PE13 1RG to park here. Parking is free.
- Blue Badge holders can park on the double yellow lines infront of Peckover House for up to three hours. The clock that comes with the Blue Badge will need to be displayed as well as the badge itself.
- Vistors can be dropped off in front of the property too.
Getting around outdoors during your visit
- A powered mobility vehicle (PMV) as well as a manual wheelchair are all available to borrow from the Welcome Team on arrival. Pre-booking is advised and you can do that by emailing us via peckover@nationaltrust.org.uk
- There is step free access to the gardens. When you enter the gardens, there are a mixture of gravel pathways and a small cobbled area outside the stables leading around down to the Reed Barn Tearoom and around the gardens.
- There are steps and slopes in other areas.
Getting around the Hall and our indoor spaces
- The main entrance to Peckover House itself has 3, 9cm high steps. At the moment, there isn’t a ramp or a handrail. There is an alternative entrance/exit to the left of the house through to Visitor Welcome. There are two much smaller steps via this entrance.
- The house is spread over three floors including basement & kitchen, ground and first floor.
- For visitors that are unable to navigate the steps down to the basement or up to the first floor, there is a photo album showcasing those areas too.
- Seating is available in various places throughout the house.
- There is level access to the Reed Barn Tea Room which is located in the gardens.
Facilities at Peckover
- An accessible toilet is located next to the Reed Barn Tea Room.
- The Reed Barn Tea Room is located just off the courtyard, and there is level access. There is seating both inside and out.
- There are various benches around the garden as well as picnic blankets available to borrow, and wellies for children to borrow too.
- On a Tuesday and Wednesday, the Damsons group meet in the Reed Barn from from 10am to 12pm and from 1pm to 3pm. Damsons is a group for people suffering from dementia and their informal carers. You can find out more about Damsons here... Damsons dementia community group Peckover | National Trust
