Join knowledgeable members of the Dry Stone Walling Association guide on a free guided walk to find out more about the work that goes in to conserving the miles of dry stone walls at Lyme.

Did you know it costs approximately £12,000 to maintain Lyme's dry stone walls every year? Explore Lyme's 18 miles of dry stone walls. Find out more about how we conserve and restore these walls and the work of our dedicated team of walling volunteers on this free guided walk. On the way you'll see exceptional views of surrounding Manchester and Cheshire, and pass by ancient woodlands and historic follies, which have provided the backdrop to Lyme for centuries. Please meet at the Refreshment Kiosk in the Car Park at 10.15am. The route is of moderate difficulty and will take approximately 1.5 hours. The ground along the route can be steep in places and uneven at times. The route includes a flight of steps and a ladder stile. Children are welcome; however, this route is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs on leads are welcome. Entry to our places are free for members. For non-members normal admission charges to the estate will apply.

Please meet at the Information kiosk in the main car park at 10.15am. Please arrive 15 minutes before the walk start time.

Please wear suitable footwear for walking and clothing suitable for the weather.
- Accessibility
This walk is of moderate difficulty. The route does not always stick to footpaths and the ground can be steep and uneven at times. The route includes a flight of steps and a ladder stile. Accessible parking can be found in the main car park and at the Orangery.

Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the walk start time to meet your guide. Dogs on leads are welcome.
