HistoryScapes aims to help visitors explore historic landscapes and discover more about the history of the places cared for by the National Trust.
Quarry Bank is one of a small group of National Trust properties chosen to participate in this pilot project, alongside Surrey Hills, Hindhead, and Saltram. Developed in partnership with the University of Exeter, HistoryScapes aims to help visitors explore historic landscapes and learn more about the history of the places cared for by the National Trust. The pilot is part of the National Trust’s ambition to improve access to history, heritage, and nature.
Join apprentice Frank Scott and step into the history of Quarry Bank during the Industrial Revolution. Discover a remarkable community and landscape with this free self-guided walk with audio. Download the HistoryScapes app on your mobile, then follow the map and prompts. The trail starts from the Mill Yard, and will take approximately one hour.
The app is available for both Apple and Android phones, however Please download the app before arriving for your visit, as there is no public Wi-Fi at Quarry Bank.
