Experience the garden at dusk and discover the nocturnal world of bats at Godolphin. As night falls, we’ll take a gentle walk through the grounds, using bat detectors to listen to their calls and learn more about these fascinating creatures.
Godolphin is home to a variety of bat species, including Greater Horseshoe, long-eared, and pipistrelle bats. They roost in some of the estate’s historic buildings and feed on insects attracted to our chemical-free gardens — a haven for wildlife.

- What to bring and wear
We recommend that you bring either a handheld or head torch, plus a bat detector if you have one. Please wear suitable footwear for walking and warm clothes.
- Accessibility
Godolphin was not built on level ground. The surfaces are uneven, cobbled and on varying terrain. Seating is also limited.
