Wild Play Area

The play area at Lorna Doone is made of a climbing feature made up of interlocking tree branches creating a unique and wild climbing frame. There is a hidden den built into the bank of the play area with tunnels into the garden.

Enjoy a picnic in the picnic area beside the play area with plenty of benches and other seating to use. Check out the events page to find out about forest school sessions or other family friendly events taking place at Lorna Doone Valley.

The play area has been made from wood from trees that have been felled at Heddon Valley which is also looked after by the National Trust. The trees have been felled to help improve the habitat for the High Brown Fritillary Butterfly. The play area has also been scattered with wildflower seeds which have been donated from the North Devon Grassland Project.
