Night-time Rockpool Ramble at Combesgate Beach
Are you ready to discover what rockpool residents come out after dark? Join the beach rangers with UV torches to explore the wonderful rockpools of Combesgate Beach, near Woolacombe.

The rockpools of Combesgate are teeming with life - fish, crabs, sea snails, star fish and anemones. A whole host of sea creatures are up and about at night rather than sleeping and hiding in the day.
Join our Beach Rangers to seek them out with UV torches and learn all bout their lives, homes and habitat. Some of these wonderful creatures may even glow under the the UV light.
Start times vary due to tide times with each event lasting around 1:30h.

- Meeting point
Combesgate Beach (5 minutes along from Woolacombe Beach, in the direction of Mortehoe). Look out for our ranger in red on the beach at the bottom of the steps.
- What to bring and wear
Bring suitable beach clothes and beach shoes (shoes that can get wet), and a hat or a coat if it is raining/cold. You may also need a torch to find your way across the beach and rocks.
- Accessibility
You may wish to scramble over rocks and you may well get your feet and legs wet! Not suitable for dogs.
