Grow Your Own Pumpkin: window sill gardening

Grow a pumpkin from seed and enter our Pumpkin Competition at Halloween.

  • Booking essential
  • Admission applies

Join our gardening team over Half Term on one of our Grow Your Own Pumpkin sessions. Starting in the Walled Garden, you'll discover the joy of nurturing a pumpkin right from your window sill using only natural and sustainable materials. You'll learn how to plant, care for, and grow your very own pumpkin seed into something spectacular!

You'll get a mini starter kit with everything you need to grow sustainably, expert tips and guidance on pumpkin-growing success and the chance to enter our Halloween Pumpkin Competition this autumn.

In October, bring your pumpkin to our Halloween Pumpkin Display and showcase your growing skills. Whether it’s a tiny treasure or a giant gourd, your creation will be part of our spooky celebration.
