Relaxed sessions | Sun 24 Nov 2024 | 9.15-10.15am
Relaxed sessions in the showrooms at Knole are for anyone who will benefit from experiencing Knole when it's less busy, and with others who may be more familiar with additional needs. The sessions may be especially useful and enjoyable for visitors with additional learning needs, dementia, autism, or visual impairment.
During the sessions visitor numbers are limited, and lights and sounds can be adjusted where possible. To enhance or aid the experience, sensory bags tailored to Knole as well as communication cards are available.
Brewhouse café will be open for refreshments and the gift shop also opens earlier. A designated quiet area is available for visitors to use should they require a break.
Audio-described tours
Audio-described tours are now available to book during the Relaxed Sessions at Knole. In particular these tours may appeal to visitors with visual impairment, additional learning needs or dementia. Trained guides will provide informative descriptions of rooms and spaces, including the Great Hall, Ballroom, Cartoon Gallery and Stone Court. The tour will take 45 minutes and is limited to six people per tour. Places on this need to be booked separately by contacting Knole either on 01732 462100 or by emailing knole@nationaltrust.org.uk
It is possible to book audio-described tours on other days, but these must be arranged in advance. Please contact Knole either on 01732 462100 or by emailing knole@nationaltrust.org.uk
