With four theatre productions and four evenings of live music, this year's Summer Season at Scotney promises great outdoor entertainment with something for all the family.

Outdoor Theatre

‘The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck’ - Sunday 4 August, 6pm

Beatrix Potter’s tale of the hapless duck who just wants to hatch her eggs and the wily “whiskery gentleman” who offers to help is a perfect for younger audiences.

Noel Coward’s ‘Present Laughter’ - Friday 9 August, 7pm

This light-hearted farce celebrates playwright Noel Coward’s legendary wit and larger-than-life persona. Brought up–to-date for the social media age, razor-sharp and highly comic, it explores of the ups and downs of fame and celebrity and impending middle age.

William Shakespeare’s ‘Henry V‘ - Saturday 10 August, 7pm

Shakespeare’s famous history of the young English king seeking glory in France sets the merits of war against the moral and personal cost of conflict. “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more …”

Charles Dickens’ ‘Great Expectations’ - Sunday 25 August, 7pm

From the misty marshes to the dusty, dirty streets of London, follow Pip’s journey through adversity to reveal the true nature of his ‘great expectations’ in Quantum Theatre’s adaptation of Dickens’ popular novel.

Live music

Tongswood Choir Concert — Saturday 6 July, 7pm

Featuring choral interpretations of Britain’s favourite folksongs in the beautiful outdoor setting of Scotney Castle. Bring a picnic and something bubbly to drink and soak up the atmosphere.

Swinging Little Big Band — Friday 16 August, 7pm

Dig out your dancing shoes, pack up a picnic, grab your drinks from the mobile bar, and spend the night under the stars for a high-energy evening of swing-era classics and Vegas-style versions of contemporary songs. ABBA Chique — Saturday 17 August, 7pm

Calling all Dancing Queens for an evening with this “super trouper” tribute band.

Shades of Simon — Sunday 18 August, 7pm

Presenting 'The Paul Simon Story', a tribute to Paul Simon covering all the classics from 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'Mrs Robinson' to the Africa-inspired hits of the 'Graceland' album. So pack a picnic, enjoy your drinks from the mobile bar, and settle back to enjoy this fantastic music under the stars.
