Taking the Word for a Walk Writing Workshop
Join us for a garden writing workshop with writer, artist and gardener, Caroline Beck to celebrate the new exhibition 'Between the Covers with Vita'.
- Booking essential
“It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by.” - Vita Sackville West
To celebrate the new exhibition - ‘Between the covers with Vita’ - we’ll be reflecting on how a garden can kindle fresh writing.
The workshop will begin with a short slow walk in the blooming spring garden. Afterward, you will return to the writing space prepared in the Sissinghurst Tower, just above Vita's own writing room. Caroline will guide you in using your observations as a springboard for short writing exercises. This is not about describing the visual, but capturing the memories and emotions the garden evokes. An exploration of why we write, rather than how to write, creating a daily habit of putting pen to paper that can sustain you through a lifetime.
Caroline encourages participants to bring in pieces of writing they admire and share recommendations of books and authors.
Your ticket covers tuition, refreshments and all day entry to the garden.
