Dover Youth Festival: White Cliffs Wild Food Walk and Lunch.

Take part in a guided walk, and learn about the plants, animals, climate and nature of the chalk downland. Find out about edible plants, then forage around Wanstone battery and prepare your lunch.

  • Booking essential
  • Free event

This event is part of Dover Youth Festival 2024, which is led by Future Foundry and is aimed at young people aged between 13 and 19 years.

You'll join a guided walk, led by our experienced ecologist, over the chalk downland behind the cliffs. You'll learn about the plants and animals that live there, their habitats and the climate that supports them. You'll discover which plants are edible and those that aren't. We won't go near the cliff edge.

We'll then go foraging around Wanstone battery, prepare and sit down together to eat your very own ‘Collected and Cooked’ wild food lunch in one of our recently rediscovered World War II buildings.

Bring your camera or fully charged mobile phone to record your experience.

Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Free, ticket-only event.
