Cladium, at the Wicken Fen Nature Reserve, Cambridgeshire 

This little cottage is on the edge of 2,000 acres of rare landscape, filled with wildlife. With trails from the front door through wetlands and woodland, it's a great base for a family holiday in the outdoors. Dog friendly. Sleeps four.

In a place described as 'the most beautiful village in England', this cottage began life as a wool store in the 14th century. It has a private garden and overlooks a wildlife-filled water meadow. Dog friendly. Sleeps six.
