Conservation in Action: Bindloss Bedroom Deep Clean

The Bindloss bedroom is home to a recycled church pew adorned with scallop shells and holly, that now takes pride of place as an imposing bed. Intricate cleaning on the carvings using hogs’ hair brushes will be in full swing, alongside careful mould removal from 18th century Gillows of Lancaster furniture.

This conservation work will take place in the Bindloss bedroom. Please ask a member of staff in the House, who will be able to direct you.
- Accessibility
Access to the first floor is up 26 steps, each around 15cm high. There are handrails either side of the staircase. Unfortunately, there is no ramp or lift available.
