Have a go at this ancient woodland management technique. We'll be coppicing in Skelghyll Woods as part of our on-going woodland management.
We will provide tools and work gloves, do bring your own gloves if you have them.

Meet at the small car park for Stagshaw Gardens and Skelghyll Woods postcode LA22 0HE.
- What to bring and wear
Bring waterproof shoes, boots or wellies, waterproof jacket and sun protection if it's sunny. Work/gardening gloves, if you have some. Bring a pack lunch, snacks and drinks.

Uneven ground in a woodland area. We will walk from the car park to the woodland (approx. 20 minute walk).

There are a few parking spaces at that location, and there is Waterhead pay and display car park just under a mile north on the main road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/w5oa5VJe9vzPnjSb6). It's also easily accessible with public transport, on the 555 bus route. The nearest toilets are also at Waterhead carpark.
