For Heritage Open Days we are hosting a day of very special tours as part of 'Common Threads', our year-long community arts programme drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of textiles at 575 Wandsworth Road including Turkish kilim rugs and cushions, wall hangings and runners from the Ivory Coast and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indian bedspreads and an ikat robe from Uzbekistan.
Showcasing the diverse cultural narratives woven into fabrics and delving into the cultural significance of this collection, we'll be celebrating the histories, techniques, ideas, and people connected with them and reflecting on how they continue to influence our lives today.
Tours last approximately one hour, booking essential as due to the fragile interiors places are limited to six people per tour.

Meet outside the front of the house to be welcomed in by your guide.
- What to bring and wear
Please bring a pair of gripped socks or slippers to help us protect the hand-painted floors upstairs.
- Accessibility
Please note we are not accessible by wheelchair, and the tour involves walking up steps. We also do not have a bathroom on site, and advise visitors to make arrangements otherwise. Induction loops and audio-described tours can be offered with advance notice. Service dogs are allowed.
