This is a unique opportunity to see and experience a compelling piece of art which prompts feelings of awe, belonging, gratitude and inquisitiveness. Visitors of all ages will be enraptured by what they see at the architect Robert Adam's grand portico entrance to Osterley House.
Visitors can see Helios from 6th - 10th June and then from 11th - 14th July. The first viewing of Helios is the weekend of Eid ul-Adha, so why not wear your finest Eid clothes and take some photos in the park with whoever you are celebrating with this year.
Named after the ancient Greek god of the sun, Helios offers a detailed view of our solar system's greatest star, including rare features like sunspots. The sculpture is scaled so that each centimetre represents 2,000 kilometres of the real sun's surface.
The portico, dating from around 1765-67, is a grand outdoor location for this seven-metre spherical artwork. Helios will be displayed centre stage, providing a glowing welcome for your day out with us.
Helios has been co-commissioned by National Trust, Cork Midsummer Festival, Liverpool Cathedral, Old Royal Naval College and University College London.
