Join us for a walk into Blickling Estate's wartime history.
Requisitioned by the War Office in 1940, Blickling provided valuable accommodation to men and women of all ranks who served at nearby RAF Oulton during the Second World War. Walk in their footsteps with one of our knowledgeable volunteers to see all the major billeting sites on the estate and learn about the work carried out here to support the war effort, some of it top secret at the time.
Booking essential. Free walk, entry to the house and garden before or after the walk will charged. Free parking available for this event, please check in with the welcome team at the barn for your parking permit. Walk route will be around 2.6km and take around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Walks will start outside the estate barn near the main car park and end on the front drive outside the house.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear clothing suitable for outdoor walking in all weathers.
- Accessibility
Surfaces include gravel, compacted sand and grassed paths. Walks should take around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Assistance dogs welcome.
- Other
Toilet and café facilities available at the start and end of the walk. Entry to house and garden before or after the walk subject to normal admission charges.
