Christmas at Oxburgh Estate

Oxburgh Estate is the perfect place to visit this festive season - with our 'Twelve Days of Christmas' family trail, beautiful traditional decorations, story telling with Father Christmas and wreath making workshops, there is something for everyone.

Story telling with Father Christmas

CHRISTMAS: Story telling with Father Christmas | National Trust

Join Father Christmas and settle in for a yuletide tale in Oxburgh’s festive second-hand bookshop.

After the story, Father Christmas will have a small gift for you to take home.

Due to the cosy size of the bookshop, there is a maximum of 1 free accompanying adult per ticketed child. Sorry but buggies and prams must be left outside.

Tickets are priced at £6.50 per child.

This event does not include general admission to site. Standard admissions charges apply to the property to non-members on arrival, National Trust members free.

CHRISTMAS: (BSL) Story telling with Father Christmas

CHRISTMAS: (BSL) Story telling with Father Christmas | National Trust

Join Father Christmas and settle in for a yuletide tale in Oxburgh’s festive second-hand bookshop. After the story, Father Christmas will have a small gift for you to take home.

For the first time at Oxburgh, Father Christmas will be joined by a British Sign Language interpreter for two extra sessions at 1pm on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December. We ask that these sessions are therefore reserved for those families who would benefit from the addition of BSL.

Due to the cosy size of the bookshop, there is a maximum of 1 free accompanying adult per ticketed child. Sorry but buggies and prams must be left outside.

This event does not include general admission to site. National Trust members free.

Wreath Making Workshops

CHRISTMAS: Festive Wreath Workshop | National Trust

Get into the festive spirit at our Christmas wreath making workshop and create your own beautiful luxury wreath to adorn your door.

We’ll teach you all the techniques you need, using some foliage from the Oxburgh Estate and natural decorations to create a beautiful festive wreath.

Enjoy a tea or coffee and a festive treat while you create your wreath.

Tickets are priced at £65.00 per person

Twelve Days of Christmas Family Trail

CHRISTMAS: 12 days of Christmas Family Trail | National Trust

Join us this winter at Oxburgh for the 12 days of Christmas trail. This interactive and playful trail will run indoors and outdoors so families have the option of doing one or both elements but are encouraged to do both!

Based on the popular song of the 12 days of Christmas, the Christmas trail will include sensory and tactile elements, with family activities to join in with both inside the hall and outdoors within the grounds at Oxburgh. Come and join in the festive fun!

The trail is free for families to enjoy. Normal admission applies.

CHRISTMAS: Family Crafts in the Gun Room

CHRISTMAS: SEN Opening

CHRISTMAS: SEN Opening | National Trust

Join us for a SEN session at Oxburgh Estate, aimed at those living or caring for someone on the autism spectrum, neurodivergent individuals, or those who have any other sensory needs.

This session hosts a fun and safe environment with additional activities to engage and provide fun for the whole family.

Oxburgh Hall will be transformed for Christmas, with candles, twinkling lights and real-life Christmas trees.

What makes the session different? Oxburgh Hall will open an hour earlier at 10am to allow for a calmer and more comfortable environment. There will be a lowered visitor capacity, raised light levels and a reduction in loud noises. On the first floor you will find a quiet room filled with sensory toys and comfortable bean bags.

There is additional emphasis on sensory experiences across the estate with trails and hands on activities for all to enjoy. Our friendly team are trained in disability awareness and are on hand to assist with accessibility requirements.

The hall will open for a quiet session at 10am. The hall is open for general entry from 11am to 2pm with last admission at 1.15pm.

This event is bookable as a free event, though general admission is required to be paid on entry to site. A ticket must be booked for every member of the group.

National Trust members free. Up to 2 free carers per person.
