Archaeological investigations over the last few years have shaped our understanding of Oxburgh, revealing evidence of Roman and Medieval settlements within what is now Oxburgh Estate.
Join our extremely knowledgeable archaeology volunteers and discover Oxburgh’s incredible archaeology as you delve into the past and discover how our Parkland landscape has changed over the millennia. You can even handle some of our historic finds!
Access to some areas of this tour can be difficult due to the terrain and will be adapted depending on ground conditions, group interest and ability.

Please check in with Visitor Welcome before meeting your guide by the bridge in front of the hall.
- What to bring and wear
These walks cover uneven ground outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day. It is advisable to bring water given the length of the walk.
- Accessibility
The route is approximately 3km and covers 30 degree slopes, grass footpaths and uneven ground which will be unsuitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and those who find walking difficult. Please note the walk will take around an hour and a half with plenty of stops. In the event of extreme heat or poor weather, the route will be adapted to 1km.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. These guided walks are free, normal admission applies for non-members. Donations are welcomed and appreciated to help us continue our essential work to care for Oxburgh’s Parkland. Please book online in advance (booking on the day if spaces are available.)
