North East in Blossom 2025: Feltmaking workshop with RT Projects
Create your own unique piece of artwork with wool, silk and yarns, using the ancient art of wet felting.
- Booking essential
This workshop is an excellent introduction to wet felting. You will learn how to handle and lay out the wool fibres to create a background for your picture, and layer it up with a variety of wool, silk and yarns to create texture and detail. You will finish your picture by felting it with soap and water.
If you have a image you would like to make, then do bring it along, otherwise Kath from RT Projects will have some on hand to use for inspiration.

About RT Projects "Our goal is to help people who are enduring poor mental health to live a full life. We work alongside people affected by depression, anxiety and those at risk of suicide. We enable people to develop emotional resilience and coping strategies and, when ready, to embark upon a personal journey towards recovery. We achieve our aims by providing group art therapy sessions and one to one support at our ‘Open Art Surgery’ in Gilesgate, Durham. We provide people with the opportunity for creative expression and to be part of a safe, supportive community."
