North East in Blossom 2025: Join a pollinator survey at Gibside
Take part in a pollinator survey on a walk with Gibside rangers.
- Booking essential
- Admission applies
Join our Gibside rangers for a walk through the grounds, looking closely at blossoming hedgerows and areas of flowering lowland heath. Spot insects like bees, beetles, butterflies and hoverflies. Learn about the importance of native hedgerows and how the rangers manage the site to boost insect populations. This is a chance to take part in a real wildlife survey and help to build data that will aid future conservation work.
This event is aimed at adults, although interested older children are welcome. Free, booking required.
On arrival at 12pm, Visitor Reception will direct you to the survey start point. This is approximately a 1-mile walk from Visitor Reception. Ranger Nick will meet you there to start the survey at 12.30pm.
Please note, the event may need to be cancelled for bad weather. Please check your emails on the day before heading to Gibside.
