NI Science Festival - Relax More, Stress Less

Have you started 2025 feeling hopeful, but you're starting to feel the pressure of daily life building up? Look no further! The NI Science Festival have just the event to help you reset for the busy year ahead!

As part of the NI Science Festival, we are proud to host Trainee Psychotherapist and Holistic Practitioner, Amanda Brennan from Happy Minds Grateful Hearts and Wellbeing Hub, on Thursday 13 February at 6:00pm - 7:00pm to delve into how excessive stress can affect our body and mind.

In this combined talk and workshop, you will...

- Explore what parts of our brain activate the stress response and hormones, and how stress is initiated physiologically within the body and activates the sympathetic nervous system

- Discover the science behind how relaxation techniques, such as breathing, can bring our nervous system

- Take part in demonstrations and learn life-changing practices to avoid burn out and take care of body and mind

Tickets = £10.00 per person

The Relax More, Stress Less event will take place within the Carrick-a-Rede Tearoom.

What to bring and wear

Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear suitable for the event. If you have your own yoga mat, please bring it with you to the class. You can also bring your own pillow, if you wish.

The Carrick-a-Rede Tearoom is fully accessible with ramps. There will be access to disabled toilets.
