At 10:00 the group will be guided by tree expert Rachel Bolt on a walk through the walked garden tree nursery. We'll wrap up at 12noon.

The National Trusts Regional Tree Nursery is based at Mount Stewart walled garden and provides the National Trust NI with all of the required native sapling needs across the country for woodland creation, expansion and restoration projects. During your visit you will be shown around the nursery – looking at the intricate workings within a native tree nursery. We will then do a seasonal activity based on what is required in the nursery at the time. This could include taking cuttings, making up orders for saplings to be planted, seed sowing or general nursery maintenance.

Please bring sturdy footwear, warm layers, waterproofs and work gloves if you have them. We can provide work gloves if required.

Participants will be able to purchase trees from the nursery during this visit.

Tickets are free.
