Accessibility at Rowallane Garden

We are working hard behind the to ensure that every visit to Rowallane is a positive and memorable one. Everyone needs nature and we are doing our bit to ensure that there are no barriers to accessing the green spaces and gardens of Rowallane.

Accessibility on site

We've made a number of improvements to our facilities and visitor offer to make Rowallane Garden more accessible.

  • Two mobility scooters are available to visitors, free of charge (up to 2 hours of use). 
  • Audio loops are available in the welcome hut and café.
  • There is dedicated disabled parking located at the top of the car park.
  • Drop off point for visitors at the rear of the café. 
  • There are disabled toilets in the visitor centre and stable yard.
  • Larger print maps and braille available on request. 
  • 'Calm Bags' are available to borrow for those who need a little extra support during the busy periods. Our calm bags include fidget toys, ear defenders, and other sensory items to help create a calm and comfortable environment.

Mobility scooters

Rowallane Garden has two new mobility scooters available for visitors to use, free of charge. Mobility scooters are for use by anyone who struggles with walking distances or has limited mobility of any kind. These can be reserved in advance of your visit by calling or emailing us, or requested on arrival at the visitor hut.

Paths are generally accessible across the property.
