Dogs on leads are welcome in the gardens, parkland, shops and the Stables Café. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the adventure playground, the indoor adventure play, and the mansion

Stairclimber
Stairclimber available to the upper ground floor of the mansion. Visitors will need to be able to transfer into the stairclimber, and then back into a National Trust wheelchair. Manual wheelchairs are offered in the mansion, but we are unable to accommodate mobility scooters. There are stairs to the upper ground floor and first floor.

By road
Located just off the A607, Grantham to Lincoln road. Belton House is signposted from the A1. If travelling from Lincoln, take the second entry into the village. Belton's gates are the first exit on your right.
Parking: Parking is included in your entry fee, National Trust members park free. Accessible parking close to the reception building. Electric vehicle charging points are now available. See “Facilities” for more information. Drivers will require their own cables to charge. Please be mindful that Belton village is not part of the National Trust Estate. We politely ask that visitors don't park in the village, as this is a busy main road, and ask that drivers are respectful to the village residents.

By train
Belton’s nearest railway station is Grantham (3 miles away). There are direct trains to Grantham from: Peterborough, Nottingham and Doncaster (about 30 mins), Leeds and London Kings Cross (about 60 mins). Plan your car-free visit at Good Journey
By bus
Regular buses, passing close to Grantham train station, run from Grantham to Lincoln (#1) and Grantham to Sleaford (#27) every day. The bus stop is located just outside the main entrance gates of Belton. Plan your car-free visit at Good Journey

We hold the Good Journey Mark for welcoming car-free visitors. Travel a greener way and enjoy a free hot drink when arriving by train, bus or bike, with a valid train or bus ticket or bike helmet. Please visit the Information and Accessibility Hub first to receive your free drink voucher. (Regular size drinks only, excluding luxury hot chocolates). Summer of Play
Summer of Play, sponsored by Starling Bank, is returning to Belton, bigger and better than ever before! Running 20 July - 1 September. Discover Belton’s Avenue of Adventure this summer and set off on a journey to explore some of the countries the Brownlow’s visited. Enjoy playful and interactive activities, from designing your own Chinese Wallpaper to competing in a hobby-horse race and building sandcastles.
Spotlight on Conservation returns!
Spend time with our mansion team to see the conservation work they do while the mansion is closed to free flow visitors. We’ll open a changing selection of rooms for this experience throughout the year. Running on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Belton Acorns
Bring your little ones (under 5's) to our Belton Acorns sessions! Enjoy learning about the beauty of Belton by engaging in crafts, play, song, and outdoor fun. There will be a varied programme of activities to get involved with. Sessions will be based around the seasons and highlight elements of Belton that shine. About Belton Estate
Generations of the Brownlow family made their mark on Belton, commissioning the finest designers and craftsmen of their age to shape Belton Estate. The house and gardens showcase cutting edge design and innovation, from 17th century sash windows to a cast iron-framed conservatory in the Italian Garden, made possible thanks to the Industrial Revolution.
Belton House contains impressive art, silver, and porcelain collections, as well as a world-renowned library. Outside there is a deer park, pleasure grounds, and formal gardens of Dutch and Italian design.
Today, Belton welcomes new generations to explore the ancient deer park, picnic in the pleasure grounds, or burn off energy in the National Trust's largest outdoor adventure playground.

Who was Richmond Barthé?
Richmond Barthé was an African American figurative artist practising from the 1930s to the 1980s. A rare oil on canvas portrait in the collection at Belton House, Lincolnshire, has recently been attributed to Barthé. The portrait offers new insight into a lesser-known aspect of his work and has served as a catalyst for exploring his story.
