Accessibility at Clumber Park
We believe that Clumber Park should be open and accessible for all. Across the estate we are continually improving access to ensure everyone can experience the nature, history and beauty of this special place. Here you can discover key accessibility information to help you plan your visit.
Arrival and parking
Maps and guides
The Welcome team will be happy to provide you with a map on arrival showing both the main visitor facilities and the wider park.
Essential Companion Card
Visitors can bring up to two carers free of charge when visiting the park. Please make the Welcome team aware on your arrival.
To make the process even quicker and simpler, you may want to consider getting a Essential Companion Card. This can be done by calling the Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895 which is open from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm weekends and bank holidays. Local call rates apply.
You can also email your request to enquiries@nationaltrust.org.uk with your full name, full address and supporter/member number.
Accessible parking
The accessible, hard standing car park is around 60 metres from the main visitor facilities and is well signposted. Within the car park there are 24 blue badge spaces.
There is also a drop-off point available, just outside the main entrance to the Laundry Yard. Within the Laundry Yard, next to the shop, you'll find the Information Point.
Getting around outdoors during your visit
There are miles of accessible surfaced paths across the park taking visitors through a variety of landscapes. All our routes are multi-use, so you may come across cyclists, pushchairs, runners and walkers.
We would encourage visitors to take care away from the main visitor area in the woodland as fallen branches or raised roots may be more complicated to navigate.
Ask a member of the team on arrival for our favourite accessible routes which you may find of interest.
Mobility scooters
All terrain mobility scooters can be hired from the Information Point in the Laundry Yard within the main visitors facilities.
Pre-booking is advised by calling the team on 01909 476592 or by emailing clumberpark@nationaltrust.org.uk
If you need a mobility scooter bringing to the car park, please let the team know when booking.
Accessible Shuttle Bus
The shuttle bus gives less mobile visitors the opportunity to visit Clumber Bridge and the Cascade which is around a mile from the main visitor facilities. The free service runs regularly from the Front Field, by the Woodland Play Park.
Accessible cycling
The VeloPlus wheelchair platform bike, which comes with pedal assist, allows visitors to remain seated in their own wheelchair and experience the wider park while their companion cycles.
The roam side by side bike, for visitors with physical difficulties, gives the rider full control and the passenger independent use of the pedals.
Booking is essential to use the accessible cycling equipment by calling 01909 476592, Monday - Friday or 01909 511024 at weekends. Alternatively, email CPcyclehire@nationaltrust.org.uk
Mobile signal and wi-fi
Please note that mobile phone reception is limited across the park. Free wi-fi is available within the main visitor facilities.
Places to rest
There are benches throughout the main visitor area, the Pleasure Grounds and the walled kitchen garden. There is also seating in the wider park, along the lakeside circular walk.
Many of our picnic benches are wheelchair accessible.
