Work has almost finished to install 12 charging bays within the hard standing car park at Clumber Park. The project has taken around 8 weeks with some snagging still to complete, however, a number of charging points are now live for visitors to use.
Carbon net zero commitment
As Europe's largest conservation charity, the National Trust has committed to becoming carbon net zero as an organisation by 2030 and are continuing to look for opportunities to develop green travel options for supporters.
The Trust has partnered with leading public electric vehicle charging operator, RAW Charging, to supply, install, operate and maintain the chargepoints.
The technology
- Each of the 6 chargepoints has two outlets serving two adjacent parking bays, providing EV charging for 12 cars
- The chargepoints provide a maximum of 22 kW and 11 kW if both outlets are in use
- Users will need to use their own cable to charge from 'AC' chargepoints
- All chargepoints are supplied from 100% renewable electricity
- The EV charging scheme is fully funded by RAW charging
The charging process
Chargers can be accessed using the ChargePoint mobile app (which should be downloaded before entering the park), an RFID card, contactless payment device or contactless debit or credit card.
Chargers are available to visitors during property opening hours.
