An Easter trail for older children and grown ups.
The Dukes and Duchesses of Newcastle were renowned for vast collections of rare and exotic antiquities, including Faberge eggs, which were commonly gifted to the children at Easter time. Today, we need your help to solve a long-standing mystery from Clumber Park's history. Years ago, while the family were away on holiday, the staff had been left to look after the estate and its valuable collections. Faberge eggs started to go missing from the house, but the thief was never identified. Help us find out who it was and bring this mystery to a close. Along the way, you’ll discover fascinating facts about Clumber Park; about its history and the conservation work that takes place to ensure nature, beauty and history can enjoyed by generations to come.
After buying your trail map from the Discovery centre you can start out on your adventure. The trail covers around 2 miles and will take you about 2 hours to complete. At each location you will find a riddle, cipher or crossword and the answers will give you a clue to the identity of the thief.
Head to the parsonage when you have completed the trail and see if you can correctly guess whodunnit! and claim your Clumber Park egg.
Good luck and have fun!
Each trail costs £3.50
