Dogs are welcome in the woodland at Ashdown, with plenty of wooded paths to explore, trees to sniff and grass to run around on, however we can't accommodate dogs in the house.
We’ve been working on making it easier for you to find out how dog-friendly your visit will be before you and your four-legged friend arrive. To help with this, we've created a new pawprint rating system and given all the places in our care a rating. You can find this information in the National Trust members’ handbook.
Ashdown is a one pawprint rated place.
Dogs are welcome here, but facilities are limited. They’ll be able to stretch their legs in the car park and walk in the nearby open spaces, depending on the season. Read on to discover exactly where you can take your dog.
Dogs are welcome in most areas of the woodland, but please look out for local notices which will let you know about any restrictions.
Dogs are not allowed in the house.
There may be restrictions in place on farmland or in woodland at certain times of the year, such as during lambing season or between March and July when ground-nesting birds are raising their young.
The estate is home to lots of animals, including a large herd of deer, so please put your dog on a lead when you're close to them.
