The Art of Traditional Wood Graining

21-22 June: learn how to create high-quality, traditional wood graining paint techniques in this intensive, accredited weekend course.

  • Booking essential

This practical skills course covers everything you need to know to recreate these ancient paint techniques, taking the skills that you have to the next level, in a nurturing and safe studio environment.

Upon completion, participants will receive 12 CPD points and a signed, CPD accredited certificate for the course.

This course is suitable for students of all abilities with a basic understanding of paints, decorating materials and equipment. It's perfect for homeowners and DIYers, professional painters and decorators, conservators and restorers, scenic artists and set designers, building custodians and specifiers, painting and decorating tutors, and craftspeople.

Your tutor is Simon Nobs of South Coast Studio. Simon has been providing a high quality painting and decorating service for 35+ years to clients across the UK and Europe, more recently focusing on the more artistic side of interior decoration. Simon has designed and created a range of high quality, CPD-accredited workshops to teach ancient, red-listed traditional decorative paint techniques such as faux marbling and wood graining.

Our class sizes are small, so you'll have a chance to engage with the tutor while you work.

All materials and tools required for the course will be provided. This course takes place over two days, on Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 June, 9.30am-4pm daily. There will be a short break for lunch each day and tea/coffee is provided.
