Nature's Home: Bird of the Month display at Calke Abbey

Discover the fascinating world of birds through our Bird of the Month display inside the house.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Immerse yourself in the art of taxidermy and see some spectacular birds that have captured imaginations for centuries.

Revisit every month to discover a different specimen from Calke's extensive collection in the Yellow Room, from birds which still grace our skies, like the Blackbird, to those that are now extinct, such as the Slender-billed Curlew.

Admire each one up-close, take in their distinct features and learn more about these winged wonders.
