Heritage Open Day

Free entry for Heritage Open Days with demonstrations in natural dyeing techniques and specialist crafts.

Hardwick is opening its gates to both members and non-members of the National Trust to explore the hall, gardens and parkland for free! Look out for the drop in demonstrations throughout the day:

Specialist Craft Team

Meet our Master Stonemasons and see the traditional skills involved in creating and conserving Hardwick Hall.

Natural Dye Demonstrations

Using flowers picked from the gardens, learn all about which colours the natural dyes produce on cotton and wool fibers.

From Mill to Mansion! Visit Stainsby Mill, the Hardwick Estate’s Victorian water mill and learn about the innovative technology, this is also open to the public from Friday 6th – Sunday 8th September.

Please note that last entry to the hall is at 2.45pm. Demonstrations will take place between 10am - 3pm.
