International Women's Day Crafting Activities & Demonstrations

Visit the East Stables to learn more about women as healers through craft activities and demonstrations.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Celebrate International Women’s Day with craft activities and demonstrations inspired by the wisdom and creativity of women as healers. Our team of volunteers will demonstrate how to use natural salve using healing plants, a tradition that has been passed down through generations.

Explore the art of natural dyeing with onion skins and woad, where you can create beautifully coloured fabrics to use in your crafts.

Drop into our scented herb sachet-making station, where you can blend fragrant herbs into small pouches to take home. Use the fabric you dyed in our natural dyeing session to craft a one-of-a-kind scented sachet.

For non-members of the National Trust, or visitors without a general admission ticket to the House and Gardens, the Wider Estate admission fees apply:

• Adult: £6.00

• Child: £3.00

• Family (2 adults, 2 children): £15.00

• Family (1 adult, 2 children): £9.00
