Fishing at Attingham Estate

Attingham's fishing season runs annually from 15th June to 15th March, attracting anglers of all skill levels to the River Severn, where you’ll find plentiful stocks of bream, perch, and chub. Here’s everything you need to know to enjoy your fishing trip with us.

Important Information

  • Type of Fishing: Only coarse fishing is permitted on the Attingham Estate.
  • Access and Parking: Two fishing car parks provide easy access to river stretches open for fishing. Upon purchasing your ticket from Visitor Reception at Attingham Park, you’ll receive a map and the access code for these locked car parks.
  • Hours: Night fishing is not permitted. To ensure safety, please leave the riverbanks one hour before sunset.

Ticket Prices

Season Tickets:

Season tickets must be purchased in advance from Visitor Reception.

  • £80 full price
  • £50 for concessions (under 16s, over 65s, and Blue Badge holders).

Day Tickets:

Day tickets can be bought in advance from Visitor Reception.

  • £10 full price
  • £6 for concessions (under 16s, over 65s, and Blue Badge holders).

Please note: Payment can be made by card or cash. Tickets are not available from the bailiff.

Guidelines for a Safe and Enjoyable Experience

Please remember to:

  • Carry Your Rod License: Bring your Environment Agency rod licence with you.
  • Keep Your Ticket on Hand: Purchase and carry your day or season ticket from the Main Visitor Reception.
  • Use Fish-Safe Rigs: To protect the fish population.
  • Fish Only from Designated Pegs: Pegs are located along the riverbanks for fishing.
  • Respect Other Visitors and Nature: Keep paths clear and take all litter and unused bait with you.
  • Close Car Park Gates: Ensure gates are closed behind you to prevent livestock from straying.

Please avoid:

  • Bringing Dogs: Dogs are not allowed at fishing spots.
  • Using More Than Two Rods: Please stick to a maximum of two rods.
  • Live or Dead Coarse Fish Bait: Only non-live, non-coarse fish bait is permitted.
  • Using Keep Nets, Lead Weights, or Barbed Hooks: These items are prohibited.
  • Camping or Huts: Setting up overnight shelters or huts is not allowed.
  • Driving on Riverbanks: To protect the landscape, vehicle access is limited to designated parking.
  • Damaging Natural Habitat: Help us preserve the riverbanks, plants, and wildlife.
  • Lighting fires: The lighting of fires or BBQs is prohibited.
