Accessibility at Biddulph Grange Garden
Although we can be challenged by the landscape and garden design, we are continuing to work on making as much as the garden accessible to as many as possible. Read on to discover how you can best access this wonderful place.
Arrival and parking
- There are four dedicated accessible parking spaces, as well as three family car park spaces which are clearly marked.
- There is a space in front of Visitor Reception, where visitors can be dropped off whilst the main driver finds a space.
- There is seating available in the picnic areas.
- The closet toilets are located behind the Shop, close to Visitor Reception.
Moving around the garden
- As Biddulph Grange Garden is situated on a hill side, there are many steps and differing gradients. The staff and volunteers on Visitor Reception can provide a map that displays a step free route which covers a portion of the garden.
- Assistance dogs are welcome in the garden. Other dogs are restricted to the Car Park and picnic areas.
- Mobile reception is good across the whole of the garden.
- Some areas of the garden have low light areas, including tunnelled areas.
Facilities
Back of the Shop
- These toilets are closest to Visitor Reception and the Car Park.
- They consist of four unisex toilets and one accessible toilet.
- The accessible toilet consists of a comfort height toilet with grab rails.
Tearoom
- The Tearoom is accessed by a flight of five stairs plus one further step.
- There are three unisex cubicles as well as a baby change facility.
Useful Resources
- Induction loops are available on all till points in Visitor Reception, the Shop, the Tearoom and Camilia House.
- A manual wheelchair is available to use for free from Visitor Reception.
- A braille guide is also available from Visitor Reception.
- Large-handled cutlery is available in the Tearoom.
