Accessibility at Carding Mill Valley

Discover the accessibility features of Carding Mill Valley. The landscape we care for presents challenges in creating access for all, but we are working to ensure Carding Mill Valley is accessible to as many visitors as possible. Here you’ll find information about how to make the most of your visit.

Parking and arrival

There is designated accessible parking at Carding Mill Valley in the open air car park which has a concrete and gravel surface. There are 6 designated spaces for visitors with access needs, located approximately 40m from the Tea Room entrance. These spaces are free for Blue Badge holders; these are indicated by signs. There are small benches and seats available outside the Tea Room.

 

Accessible toilets

There is an accessible toilet in the Tea Room and another accessed from outside with a Radar key, 15m from the Tea Room entrance.

 

Access ramp

The Chalet Pavilion Tea Room can be accessed via the access ramp. There is also a mobile ramp that can be requested from staff. 

 

Induction loop

There is an induction hearing loop set up throughout the built area of the site.

 

Double handled cups

At our tearoom, we have double handled cups and large handled cutlery available

 

Sensory bag

Please ask the Tea Room staff if you would like to borrow a sensory bag.

Contents include:  Adjustable noise cancelling earphones* • Pop-it sensory bubble fidget square • Wooden articulated caterpillar • Tangle texture junior • "I would like to say" communications fan. 

*please note, the ear defenders are not toys and children should not be left alone with them.
