Come and meet the Taunton Garrison and learn about early  life, when  the building of Montacute House was just a grand idea in Edward Phelips' mind. Join in musket  drills, and many aspects of historic living and meet and chat with folk straight from the 17th  Century. The  Muskets will be on display and fired at set times.  The Garrison will be based in the stable courtyard.

Experience the sounds and smells . 
Please be aware there will some loud bangs between 11.30  - 12.00 and 1.30 - 2.00  from musket firing.

Grab your wellies and coats or t-shirts and shades as good weather has no guarantees! 
Purchase a trail from reception and discover ten fun Spring and Easter activity themed  points around the gardens. After completing your trail head for the shop to collect your chocolate prize (egg). 
 A free-from alternative prize is also available on request.
Trails  available every day from 5 April -  23 April, 10.30 - 4..00
£3-50 per trail, one chocolate egg per trail purchased.
