Eating at Box Hill

Stocked with delicious treats, snacks and light meals, the café and servery at Box Hill have plenty to tempt you. Grab and go from the servery hatch or take a seat in the café and then browse the second-hand book shop for a bargain.

Bring your own reusable cup

While our take away drinks are served in compostable plant-based cups, if you buy a hot drink from our café or servery using your own reusable cup, we'll give you 25p off your drink.

The café at Box Hill

The café is open daily from 10am serving a range of hot and cold lunches, snacks and drinks:

  • Sandwiches (hot or cold)
  • Soups and one pots
  • Baked potatoes with a choice of toppings
  • Pies and pasties
  • Cakes and bakes
  • Barista range of hot and cold drinks

The menu changes with the seasons so there's often something new to try. There are gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options available.

Please note, there is a takeaway service only available 30 minutes before closing time.

The servery

Perfect for a quick bite or a pit stop, and open from 8am the he servery is a takeaway service only offering:

  • Morning pastries
  • Breakfast baps
  • Pasties and pies
  • Bakes and cakes
  • Barista range of hot and cold drinks
  • Scooping ice cream from Jude's

Breakfast items are served from 8am with additional hot food items served from 9.30am. There are gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options available.

Groups

We welcome groups at Box Hill. If you're planning on bringing a group of 10 or more, please do let us know on 01306 878556 or email boxhill@nationaltrust.org.uk

Allergen information

Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.

If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.

Always check when you visit

Visited before? We sometimes change our recipes to improve quality and flavour, including the ingredients. When you visit, please speak to one of our team to check the current allergen information for your favourite dish.

There's a range of gluten-free and dairy-free food available at both the servery and café, as well as soya and oat milk for drinks.

Second-hand books at Box Hill

You can find the second-hand bookshop next to the servery at Box Hill. From picture books and children’s fiction to fantasy, romance, biography, gardening and cookery there’s a wide variety of books to choose from. All the proceeds go directly back to Box Hill to help with our vital conservation work. Donations of books and puzzles to our café are most welcome between 10am and 4pm, daily.
